kapellMATTHEW WILHELM KAPELL edited, with John Shelton Lawrence, Finding the Force of the Star Wars Franchise. Holding an MA in anthropology, he is a PhD student in American history at Wayne State University in the highly underrated and not overly violent city of Detroit, Michigan. He has published in multiple disciplines, including work on the genetics of human growth, the effects of poverty on child development, Holocaustal images in Star Trek, utopian thought, and Christian romance fiction. He has taught anthropology, history, sociology, Africana, and women’s studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Wayne State University, Michigan State University, and Lawrence Technological University. dotyWILLIAM G. DOTY retired from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama—Tuscaloosa in 2001, but continues to teach in premier student programs at the university. His books have included Myth: A Handbook (Greenwood Folklore Handbooks, 2004); Mythography: The Study of Myths and Rituals (2nd ed. 2000); The TIMESWorld Mythology (2002), Myths of Masculinity (1993), and several edited and co-edited volumes such as Picturing Cultural Values in Post-modern America (1995); Interdisciplinary Studies Today (1994), and Mythical Trickster Figures: Contours, Contexts, and Criticisms (1993).
